SUMMER DRINK RECIPES

 

Watermelon and Blackberry Sangria

Ingredients
1 bottle (750 ml) white zinfandel or rose wine, chilled
1/4 cup watermelon schnapps liqueur
1-1/2 cups cubed seedless watermelon (1/2-inch cubes)
1 medium lime, thinly sliced
1/2 to 1 cup fresh blackberries, halved
1 can (12 ounces) lemon-lime soda, chilled
Ice cubes
Fresh basil or mint leaves
 
In a large pitcher, stir together wine and schnapps; add watermelon, lime and blackberries. Chill at least 2 hours. Just before serving, stir in soda. Serve over ice. Garnish with basil or mint.
 
 

Whipped Frozen Creamsicle

Ingredients
1 ¼ cups orange juice or tangerine juice (fresh or refrigerated, not from concentrate)
½ cup unsweetened vanilla coconut milk
1 ½ cups ice cubes
¼ cup frozen mango chunks 
2 ounces vodka, vanilla vodka, orange vodka, vanilla rum or white rum (Optional)
 
Combine orange (or tangerine) juice, coconut milk, ice, frozen mango and vodka or rum (if using) in a blender. Blend until the mango is pureed and the ice is crushed to a slushy consistency. Divide the creamsicle between 2 12-ounce glasses, garnish each with an orange slice, if desired, and serve immediately.

Frozen Rainbow Margaritas

Ingredients
 
Butterfly Pea Flower-Infused Tequila
½ cup tequila
¼ cup dried butterfly pea flowers 
 
Green Layer
1 ½ ounces tequila
1 ounce lime juice
½ ounce agave syrup
½ cup chopped avocado (see Tip)
1 cup crushed ice
 
Yellow Layer
1 ½ ounces tequila
1 ounce lime juice
½ ounce agave syrup
½ cup pineapple chunks
1 cup crushed ice
 
Red Layer
1 ½ ounces tequila
2 ounces lime juice
½ cup chopped strawberries 
1 cup crushed ice
 
Blue Layer
1 ½ ounces butterfly pea flower-infused tequila
1 ounce agave syrup
1 cup crushed ice
Lime slices for garnish
